Cheap date ideas in London

Updated Monday 12 October. 32 listings, checked this morning.

A good date in London doesn’t need a £60 tasting menu. Something to watch or do together takes the pressure off the conversation, and gives you something to talk about after.

These are evening plans for £15 or less a ticket over the next two weeks: comedy, gigs, film, talks, theatre and late openings. If you’d rather meet in the day, there are free exhibitions underneath, which are easy to leave if it isn’t going well and easy to follow with a drink if it is.

Getting there

A lot of these are near Angel, Camden Town, Covent Garden, Dalston Kingsland and Stepney Green. Every listing shows its nearest station and the walk from it, and the event page works out your journey there and home from any postcode.

Pick somewhere easy for both of you to get to. Each event page works out the journey from any postcode or station, there and back, including the last trains home.

The Night Tube runs on Friday and Saturday nights on lines including the Victoria, Jubilee and most of the Central, Northern and Piccadilly lines, and night buses run every night.
