How we pick

Privacy

What Tap In London keeps, what Google does if you say yes, and how to change your mind. Last updated 11 October 2026.

On your phone only

Things you save, your postcode or station for journey times, and your quiz answers are kept in your browser's own storage on your device. They're never sent to us, and you can clear them by forgetting your postcode, unsaving things, or clearing your browser's site data.

Journeys and maps

To plan journeys and show stations, your browser asks Transport for London and postcodes.io directly, sending the postcode or station you typed and the event's location. Maps come from OpenStreetMap. If you use "Near me", your browser asks your permission first, and your location is only used on the page to sort events by distance.

Counting visits: Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to see which pages and features get used, so we can make the site better: page views, searches, which lists and events get opened, saves, shares, journeys planned and clicks through to venues. If you agree, Google sets analytics cookies. If you don't, it sets none and we only get basic, cookieless counts. We never send your name, email or postcode to Google: if you type a postcode, email address or phone number into the search, it's removed before anything is sent.

Ads: Google AdSense

Ads from Google AdSense pay for the site. They're labelled "Advertisement" and never change what's listed or how it's ranked. If you agree, Google and its ad partners can use cookies to show ads based on your interests and to measure them. If you don't, Google shows ads that aren't personalised, using as little data as it needs. Google explains how it uses information from sites like this one at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Your choice, and changing it

The first time you visit from the UK or EU, Google's consent message asks what you're happy with. You can change your answer at any time with Cookie settings, also at the bottom of every page.

Your rights

Tap In London is run by Metric Owl Limited (company number 17067894, registered office: Flat 17, St. Michael's Court, St. Leonards Road, London, E14 6PS), which is responsible for this site's data. Under UK data protection law you can ask what data is held about you, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted. As we don't hold accounts, the main data is what Google holds under the choices above; Google's own tools at myaccount.google.com cover that. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
