About
The Lower Depths: The Cinema of Shohei Imamura. Embroiled in controversy and debate surrounding the ethics of its creation, in particular the use of hidden cameras, Imamura’s first foray into documentary is a richly complex investigation into the disappearance of a Tokyo salesman that revels in the uncertainty inherent in its own creation.
